STEP 2 : Laser Safety Course

To obtain a user license in Queensland, it is mandatory to complete a laser safety course as part of the licensing process. K-Laser Australia offers a complimentary laser safety course to medical practitioners. This course is widely recognized by the QLD Radiation Health Department and can speed up the licensing process.

Objectives of the Laser Safety Course for Cosmetic Practice

• Develop a solid understanding of laser physics and the different types of lasers used for treating sun damage, pigmentation, superficial vascular lesions, and raised skin moles.
• Understand the different settings of laser devices such as continuous wave (CW), pulsing T-On T-Off, spot size, wavelengths, and power.
• Assess the potential hazards associated with various laser classifications and their applications.
• Acquire knowledge of laser systems and techniques for minimising exposure to laser radiation and other hazards, to protect everyone involved in the laser procedure.
• Review examples of safety protocols and learn about the responsibilities of a Laser Safety Officer (LSO).
